Well, let's just hope, this evidence is enough to find these terrorists guilty, although there are still some doubts about the admissibility of the evidence gained due to their torturing during the interrogation. Because if it would be found inadmissible I'm very afraid that on the basis of the principle "in dubio pro reo" established by the reasonable doubt, they might somehow be acquitted at the civil trial. Yes. It remains to be seen exactly what the charges will be, and how the court will limit the defense from going off on tangents. And, in the event they were to be acquitted, I'm not sure how they could be released from US custody. We can't unload the last 200 detainees as it is, since no country will accept them.

I cannot even imagine the situation when the detainees would be released. But I'm pretty sure, they would become targets of an assassination themselves. As the trial has already evoked so many emotions, among them most often a hatred and an anger, it is quite clear these people are perhaps going to end up executed anyway. Lorne
